Horticulture packaging questions
What size do I need for a seed packet?
The 3" × 7" flat pouch — a single-variety packet with room for the front artwork and growing instructions on the back.
The 4″×6″×2″ stand-up takes 4 oz of bulk seed or a small amendment, the 6″×9″×3″ a 1 lb bag of nutrients, and the 8″×12″×4″ a 3 lb potting mix.
Do seeds need a bag that breathes?
Dry seed stores best sealed and dry — a barrier bag is the right choice. Live plant material, mushroom spawn and anything that respires does not belong in a sealed barrier pouch; ask us and we'll say so.
Will the bag keep seed viable?
Yes — the film holds moisture under 0.02 g/100in²/day and is fully opaque, which covers the two things — humidity and light — that lower germination in storage.
Can I print growing instructions on the packet?
Yes — the bag prints edge to edge on both sides, so the back carries sowing depth, spacing, days to harvest and any lot number at a readable size.
What is the minimum order for custom seed packets and grow-supply bags?
500 bags on every size — most converters will not quote a nursery under 5,000 per run.
